ThreeThingThursday is a weekly post detailing three random–yet interesting–tidbits of information that are new to me this week. Arbitrary as they may seem, sometimes it’s the smallest things that lead to the greatest inspirations!
[ONE]: PRSSA Style Guide
Yes, such a thing exists! It came up in the February PRSSA Twitter chat, and I was glad to hear I wasn’t the only one who didn’t know of it yet. The PRSSA Style Guide has tons of useful directions; after taking a look I wished I’d been using it all along.
When is this useful? Take a look when conducting media relations for Chapter events, when referring to PRSSA experience on your resume, when writing for FORUM, and especially when applying for PRSSA scholarships and awards!
[TWO]: The next millennial gadget has arrived
Google Glass, the first consumer product straight out of The Jetsons!
Apparently when you put them on, your life gets a lot more interesting. If you can make time between your next hot air balloon ride and sky diving session, you can use them to take photos, videos, get directions, and do other practical things all with a voice command. It’s like Siri…for your face.
[THREE]: Some Ohio University trivia
Did you know the oldest building in Athens, Ohio is on campus? Tthe log cabin across from Peden stadium was built in 1804, making it the oldest building in the city! I occasionally work in the Visitor’s Center for Parking Services, and it’s full of historic OHIO materials.
What have you learned this week?
